WHAT SEEMS HARMLESS SOMETIMES, CAN BE VERY HURTFUL TO ANOTHER.
It might be something that we hear from someone at work, in school or in the neighborhood, and it is not anything real bad about another person, but we think it is okay to share it.
In sharing it, we find out that we have “hurt” another person, but sharing it with someone else. It might be a bad grade, and we think everyone knows about it, and in sharing it, we hurt another person.
It might be at work when someone is called in the boss’ office to discuss something, and we tell someone else what we think it might be about, even though we don’t know.
The Bible says, that anything that we know is not good or right, we should not involve ourselves in. Even though it might not be extremely harmful, it still is better to say nothing, than to make any mention of it. “Anyone, then, who knows the good or right thing he/she ought to do, and doesn’t do it, that is sin.” James 4:17
If you were the “other person” how might you feel? Many people feel good about saying things on the internet, because no one knows who they are, but in fact, they know.
